  1. Regarding poisoned wolves, are we purposely not allowed to harvest meat? Curious if they are just that lean and sick they have no meat on their bones or if the game is stopping me from Darwin-ing myself
  2. Basically, I thought drinking the tea and getting the "improved rest" benefit would mean more of the fatigue bar would be restored per hour. Let's say if you sleep for an hour, you gain 10% of your fatigue bar. I thought improved rest would restore more of that bar, maybe 12% instead. But it only affects the amount of condition restored via sleeping, not the amount of fatigue restored.
  3. Am I just dumb, or did anyone else think they got more rest for less with the "improved rest" benefit? I only just read that it only affects the amount of condition restored while sleeping.
  4. Kinda hope they'll add vitamin c tablets/ drink mixes as a "quick fix" method of gaining vitamin c. Maybe work similar to water purification tablets, makes blank amount of vitamin water
  5. Thinking about it a little bit, I think they might be wearing a fisherman's sweater, since it's all white. But if it is just bare arms, they should definitely add reddish tones to the skin
  6. Do the updated hand coverings extend to the arms too? It seems the arms change depending on the coat or undershirt as well in the examples
  7. Ayo! That looks amazing! Throw some shading on that and that'd be even better!
  8. I actually do like the idea of a sewing machine being active during an aurora. A risk for it is that if it messes up halfway through, it could ruin or severely damage the item. But it would be significantly faster than hand sewing. The electric stove could be good as well, but I feel like it would either be very fast due to unrestrained electricity flowing through it, or it would be slower than fire cooking due to just how electric things are.
  9. I like the idea. It would be super cool to unlock some special craftable items after mastering a certain skill. Like stronger arrows or a better bow with archery, or heavier bullet types with gunsmithing. I just wonder how big of a challenge it would be for the devs to add that all to the game. But I love the idea regardless
  10. Now that you mention it, it is a pretty good upside as well as it being better to use a cheap arrow on a cheap cut of meat.
  11. I was kinda bummed seeing the title, I was hoping to see the new content but I guess not. But if we get both chapters at the same time, I think it's well worth the wait. Long as we're informed and nothing comes out glitchy, I'd wait an eternity. As you'd say on another game, "Rock and Stone!"
  12. I mean, bird shot has lots of small pellets designed to create a wide pellet pattern to better take down birds, and with the smaller pellets and the distance the crows hover at in game, I wouldn't think they'd be too damaged by bird shot. Besides you could maybe harvest a significant amount of feathers from the carcass to put towards your bow and arrow. And when it comes to other birds, one thing you have to remember is that the wildlife in this game are all off of their normal "patterns", so hinterland could cook up some story as to justify their existence, or at least make it make sense in the game's realm. I respect your opinion but you gotta remember that the wildlife is off it's rocker in this game, and bird shot wouldn't blow up a bird (you even made a point of how bird shot didn't even pen your jacket)
  13. I like this idea best so far. It could give an insight to what the radio is used for, and if you communicate to the trader via the radio only, you can technically go through your game still being alone. Plus it's nice that if it's like that, it could be entirely optional, but it would help if you get in a pinch. I'm still going to wait and see but I have high hopes that it won't be too game breaking and immersion wrecking
  14. My potshot guess is maybe just different skins for items, like maybe a hoodie with hinterland's logo, or maybe the knife Jeremiah gave us back in the pre-redux days where it had the antler grip. I don't think it'll be super game changing stuff, but I could be wrong
  15. I agree here, bird hunting is the only way to make the shotgun a reasonable addition without adding it just to add it. Every weapon has its place: rifle, powerful hunting tool but with scarce ammo; revolver, good for defense and warding off predators; bow, good for long term hunting and survival; flare gun, defense only, ward off everything. Not trying to shoot down the idea, I'd love to have a shotgun in the game, but the criteria needed to justify a new weapon just isn't there. So until we have a mechanic, such as bird hunting, the shotgun isn't an entirely necessary, nor justified addition.
  16. One simple thing, the fact the Devs care so much for their game and listen to the community. That's what I love.
  17. Dude, you gave him a surprise lobotomy! He kept going cause he felt no pain.
  18. ability to drop matches into gas tanks to make the car blow up and give 2 scrap metal
  19. Just some fan art I drew for chapter 4. I drew Mathis above the black rock prison as a sort of puppet master. I like it but I feel I could have done better, but I like it and I'm happy with it.
  20. 78. Trying to goat down the canyon in the ravine connector without installing the rope, before bleak inlet was added.
  21. A high wind resistance bonus makes sense, considering they live in some of the coldest/windiest regions of the map.
  22. I get what you're trying to say, but I think it doesn't need to be more complicated than cleaning the gun like we have now. 1. I don't believe you would have to replace the barrel. It's not like you're able to fire an obscene amount of rounds out of it in a short time. It would only work in a situation where Hinterland would add an exploding rifle mechanic that would require a new barrel to fix it, but by that point it would probably be broken beyond any repair at that point. Plus it could likely be off put by cleaning the gun, and therefore cleaning out any obstructions in the barrel reducing the factor of the gun blowing up. 2. A firing pin breakage is highly unlikely, and is difficult to replace. The pin has to be properly milled and heat treated in order to do its job effectively, which in this case, would require a whole new forge type to make these parts more than likely. For example, a standard, properly built Ar-15's firing pin can withstand around 20,000 rounds. This shows the amount of rounds that can be fired before a breakage is even likely to occur, even in a semi-auto platform. Despite firing a beefier round than an ar15, you couldn't find enough ammo in the game to even get that far. The most likely time a firing pin will break is if it is improperly heat treated and/or a poor metallurgy job. 3. The most likely part to be changed out would be the stock, but even a stock break would be unlikely if the gun was properly put together. The more likely failure in any firearm would be the ammo, but we already have a system for making ammunition in the game. I'm not at all trying to say you're idea isn't good, I'm just trying to give reasons as to the fact that these things are so unlikely to happen in a properly put together and well kept gun that it would be unnecessary to add them to the game. Even if it would be realistic, it wouldn't change the gameplay that much unless Hinterland adds a whole mechanic around it all at some point. But don't let me tear your idea down, if you like your idea, stick with it. I'm just saying how at the time, this isn't practical.
  23. Personally, the only nitpick I have regarding item weight is why an animal quarter weighs twice as much as the meat that is inside. That is the only thing that doesn't make sense to me. If there is bone in there, it would make sense if there was a little more weight, but not doubling it.
  24. Thinking about what you're saying about a better AI system, what if while you're walking and a wolf starts to follow and you pass by more, they start to follow and try to surround you so you can't run. You can get out of this by firing at them or lighting a flare to make them back off. Another strategy would be to run before they try to circle you. It would be cool to see some better tracking in the future.
