  1. Corn and Ham are both better stored inside. I've been away from where I left the flour and carrots so still no results. Haven't had any reason to walk all the way back to Milton.
  2. Haven't had much time to play lately, but I have some preliminary results. Potato - seems to decay at the same rate inside or outside, and rather quickly. Carrot - Results pending, no decay inside or outside in five days Oats - Definitely better stored inside Salt - No decay yet on the jar I've been carrying for a week Flour - Results pending, no decay inside or outside in five days Broth - Definitely better stored outside, decays somewhat quickly Corn - Forgot to set up experiment until today Ham - Same as Corn
  3. Anybody experimenting with decay rates and best storage for the new foods? I only very recently found some of the new things. The oats I found at 8% appear to be staying at 8%, so they might be like salt crackers and be immortal. Found some corn and ham but haven't tested, may do so next time I get a chance to play by leaving one inside and one outside for a day or two.
  4. I also have a somewhat fresh sandbox that I don't want to abandon, but I also want to see the new prepper caches, and am torn if I should restart or not. Making his way from Hushed River Valley toward the new content now. If someone can confirm or deny if caches are spawning or not that'd be great, but I suspect that they will only spawn in new sandboxes.
  5. I found mine in Hushed River Valley, near the fallen tree that let's you easily get back up out of the actual Hushed River area, near the ice cave behind the waterfall. There was a corpse, the bow, and a couple of arrows on a little hill just after climbing out of the river on the tree.
  6. I feel like this is probably something incredibly obvious that I am just overlooking, but how does one begin a "tale" in the DLC? I poked through the menus expecting it to be something like a challenge, but I don't see anything. Does a "tale" start somehow after entering the new zones? My newest survivor hasn't quite made it that far yet, he woke up in Hushed River Valley and is busy picking over Milton before heading out to the new area.
  7. I have the exact same bug. Just showed up when I loaded my game tonight. Persists through reload and restart.
  8. Like many here, I pulled the knife, and imagine my surprise when I didn't get a knife. I'm explaining it in my head as the knife being at really low condition and pulling it broke it, but it really broke immersion. A few relatively easy solutions: -change the knife to a screwdriver -change the knife model so it is visibly damaged or broken -give the player a pathetically low condition knife
  9. Did someone on your staff have a bad experience with tinned sardines? Because I am certain that I have gotten food poisoning from sardines more often than everything else put together, by a very wide margin. I don't even eat them anymore at under eighty percent unless absolutely necessary. Also, first post here, love this game so much and really looking forward to the new episode(s). I grew up in the midwest with a father who loves camping, foraging, hunting, fishing, and survival. As a kid back in the days of 8-bit consoles, riding my bike to school in the winter, hiking with my dad, playing at the local creek, or camping, I imagined a game almost exactly like The Long Dark, and playing it is like seeing that become real. Thanks for that. I hope someday to see a sequel with changing seasons. That would be epic.
