  1. Yes, player safety is essential, but the screen time is unusually long. This is the first time I've ever complained about the photosensitivity warning in a game. I suggest putting a click-any-button message to move through it and putting the detailed help info as an accessible link on the main loading page if you want folks to have that info. The whole game loading process is already pretty long; with the unskippable warning, it's now a minute to load into a game. Setting aside games with crowded servers (looking at you FFIVX) the last time I had that long of a wait was when we used 3.5 floppies.
  2. The problem I have with the wind in Interloper is its not a big storm, the wind should not be overwhelmingly loud at all times. Its loud enough you can't hear the waterfalls. They do also need to fine tune how some of the water sounds get delivered. Yes waterfalls are loud, but the dynamics are weird, like its actually louder down a canyon in another portion of the map than it is right on the waterfall. And there's a section where you have several large obstacles between you and water and yet the water sound is overwhelming, but when you're next to the running water its fine. Things like that.
  3. So far the only place I'd consider setting up long term is Island Cabin. There's fishing, there's wolves, there's deer, and there's moose. But I'm on stalker so insomnia isn't as much of a problem for me.
  4. Like @yollarbenibekler said, they'll probably announce it. Though I'll probably miss that announcement
  5. so how about all those scary new sounds :D. Setting aside the heart attack I almost had the first time I heard a steel drum... I'm finding the audio to be much better. I know some of its new (deer sounds, scary steel drums, etc.) but you can now also tell the depth of the snow you're walking up when you're going up a steep incline. Assuming you're not wearing crampons it makes that deep crumpf noise. Very cool. I don't know if that's new or simply an enhancement, but its cool. All in all, I'm finding the audio environment to be really spiffy. Except for on interloper. Why is the wind so loud on interloper? Its not that loud on stalker.
  6. It should automatically be dumping a screenshot with that info. Mine all end up on my desktop
  7. It is the best! I think the light is slightly less sharp at the outer edges, but I'm usually not looking there.
  8. bummer, they're not new. ah well - on to (checks notes) Ash Canyon!
  9. Something to keep in mind when the do come back is that the caches have moved over time, sometimes a fair bit. So if the video is a few years old it might not show the current actual location.
  10. I jumped off a ledge to avoid a charging moose in BR, and thought quick enough to head for a little lip of ledge that would let me keep firing at the moose once it calmed down. And I remembered to crouch. Difficult to do while fighting the desire to scream while running in circles
  11. I think @yollarbenibekleris probably right. I found two memento's on TWM - one pointed to the transition to Ash Canyon and the other one highlighted the Chasm cave. I think the buffer memories are new. I'm holding out to see if I can get the last buffer memory to see if tells part of a story. (there's 4)
  12. Basically at the end of the day - trust was earned when the studio went back and redid Wintermute into something that is playable. I've purchased plenty of early access stuff that went absolutely nowhere, and frankly some big name games that were utterly unplayable out the gate (Looking at you Fantasy 14). Was there a massive snafu - oh yes, were there real time updates on social media - again yes, was the problem solved quickly - mostly. Was there responsibility take, yes. So that's it, moving on.
  13. All very true. What I would love to see is a clearer understanding of what roadmap things were put into the update. They've done it in the past. I'm not saying listing every single tiny thing but since they keep teasing with things like cougars, are there cougars in this update? I loved the last teaser right before this release it showed does! Yay! Does! Honestly a simple - this thing from the wish list is in this update list is helpful. They've done an awesome job in the past.
  14. I don't back them up. I suspect the key binding is a relic from when Wintermute and Survival were the same game.
  15. I've been enjoying it so far. there's a change in the loot on the Summit of TWM and it just seems to make more sense. I'm also finding some of the tableaux with dead bodies amusing. TWM seems warmer, but that might be because I'm usually there after a couple hundred days have gone by. As mentioned in one of the FAQ (or interviews it all blurs ) rifles are a whole lot rarer. All in all, if it weren't for the really weird graphical glitches I'd be in heaven. Just a guess here, but I suspect the transit to the Far Territory may feel less empty once the cougar is in the game.
  16. I noticed this too and in the interview with Raph and Katie they did mention that the size difference would mean a difference in the amount of meat.
  17. Horse armor? I've been burned by horse armor dlc....
  18. a travois! squeeeeee!!!! Actually, I've very excited by almost everything. Well not losing my saves, but hey, it won't be the first time. This is awesome!
  19. was wandering around recently just admiring the atmospherics - as one does Here are my favorites - they're called "Aurora" "Fog" "Moon & Stars" "Snow" and "Sun"
  20. My "vacation" spot. Actually, this view (though less well developed) oh so many years ago is when I fell in love with the game.
  21. Picture one is the top of that little island next to the cannery in BI and picture 2 is a shelf near where the tool cache shows up in ML.
