  1. They updated a the mechanic a bit with v. 326. That was how it worked when the mechanic was introduced. At that point they didn't reset the chance daily, it just kept building indefinitely. I believe it is 1% for the first time you consume wolf or bear meat, 2 puts you to 4% and it just keeps ramping up with each piece. I personally don't think I ever let it shoot past 19%.
  2. Okay that didn't take long. Day 88 - percentage chance to 19% - No Parasites Day 89 - percentage chance to 19% - Contracted Parasites I got a little unlucky, but 2 days eating wolf meat at that level is about a 30 percent chance of contracting intestinal parasites. Odds are against you if you eat wolf regularly, especially in quantity. Edit: It appears you can eat wolf meat without any consequence while you actually have the condition.
  3. I think you are probably just lucky or maybe the way the percentage risk is working isn't exactly as we expect? What wasn't clear to me is when the game actually tests to see if we contract the parasites. Is it on the 24 hour cycle and applies the percentage chance right before the percent resets? If so, I think, if you keep living off cooked wolf meet you will almost definitely contract it in sooner rather than later unless you are incredibly lucky. The statistical chances of you making it past 10 days without contracting parasites are only about 17.5%. That is pretty lucky. I could do some testing similar to what you are doing so see what happens, so far i was keeping to to only 1 or 2 wolf steaks every on some days to keep from depleting my other meat stores too quickly. I am definitely curious of the long term survival implications of the parasites. I think they it has a good potential to be a resource drain if we eat carnivore meat carelessly and regularly. I'll try getting my percent up to 14 every day and let you know how it goes.
  4. I'll chime in real quick on this topic as I am curious about the long term game play impact. If the probability of contracting intestinal parasites increases by 2 percent each instance I believe you are practically statistically guaranteed to contract within 20 to 25 instances of consuming carnivorous meat. This is how I understand the mechanic as explained. With a static 2 percent chance each instance that guarantee is stretched out to closer to 230 to 250 instances. Still a serious threat in my opinion. Especially considering just 36 pieces of carnivorous meat still approaches a 50 percent chance of contracting. I would even argue that there would still need to be a way to reasonably manage the ailment other than antibiotics. Perhaps, as others suggested, bark tea. I do believe this resource should be limited though, so you can't mitigate the risk of parasites completely and easily. If the mechanic is how I noted in the first scenario I would suggest that is a bit too harsh. If the percentage is a static 2 however, it seems a bit more balanced for risk vs reward gameplay. This is assuming my basic probability calculations are correct, I've been out of school from quite some time.... I am curious how other feel on the topic. Was my assumption correct about the ever increasing probability?
