  1. Oh im not suggesting a linear approach. More like if it is colder than this then you get a flat risk like 15% for snap and extra strong arrow hits. Think of how it is with hypothermia. Suddenly after exceeding a limit you have hypothermia (contrary to getting it gradually) and if you freeze more the symptoms of hypothermia stays the same. If you get warmer the symptoms of hypothermia stays the same until it goes away completely.
  2. As they say here https://www.quora.com/Does-the-temperature-affect-the-performance-of-a-longbow So the bow in cold weather could be stronger but also snap easier.
  3. Hrsgdngfnsfgbshbab·11/12/2023 So if i fill it with 50kg of fishes, does it attract wolves? Timberawoo·25/12/2023 Yes. https://thelongdark.fandom.com/wiki/Travois
  4. lmao i never realised that
  5. Actually you are right if something is too hot just add a little snow to cool it off. Yeah i think the reason why houses are above freezing is because they take into account that you have warmed the house with your bodyheat and with isolation it will get warmer. Oh i thought plastic bottles would be destroyed since water expands 10 fold as it turns from liquid to solid.
  6. I think they can do it binary like either its hot or normal or frozen. And the murky water for simplicity doesnt change properties. Its just murky. In my experience its very rare someone will be in a situation where they have to drink murky water anyway. The thing about freezing water or ice is that it should just disappear unless its mixed with something since melting ice is the same as melting snow which is everywhere. For condition it could just be: if its drinkable without risks you have it in your inventory, if its not drinkable without risk it will become murky water. So say today you carry 5 liter of water. The game knows 0,7liter of that is 40% condition, 2,5liter of that water is 28% condition and 1,8 liter is 20% condition. But what you see is 5 liter of water. And if you drink from it you drink from the lowest condition water. So you see you have 5 liters on you then next day you see you only have 3,2 liters of water on you because the 20% water dropped down to 19%. You dont see that but what you see is 1,8 liter of murky water. Meaning now you can drink it but you take a risk. If you keep water down to 0% it disappear. If you boil the murky water it will become hot clean water. if you wait maybe 1 hour it will become clean water.

  8. Hey how about if you can find explosives maybe in mines and you cant use it before you have read a book about explosives which takes 10 hours to read. This book cant be found in many places Then explosives can be used to open containers (those that need a hacksaw to be opened), maybe the items inside gets ruined or loose condition when you open it like that or maybe you can open up a cellar but you destroy the house above it. Also maybe be able to use flour to make fire. Just some thoughts.
  9. Like make water freeze when you dump it. So there are options in ways to do it maybe it can change with difficulty. Only freezing when you drop it outside When you drop water inside and theres no heatsource it takes many hours before it freeze, outside not long. If the container is plastic it gets ruined so the water is lost Boiled water should be warm and too warm to drink immediately. (give the option to wait for it to cool off for drinking)
  10. https://nyheder.tv2.dk/business/2023-12-23-46-maersk-containere-tabt-i-dansk-farvand-fire-er-drevet-i-land In Denmark a ship lost 46 containers and they expect them to make landfall later. It gave me the idea what if there is northern lights and you can listen to the radio and lets say ships are still sailing out there then on the radio they can say something similar. A ship lost cargo and its expected to reach shore soon, then containers can land on the beach and u need a hacksaw to open them.
  11. i think the cabin fever mechanic is fine as it is, its a bit annoying when it strikes but you are in full control to not be stroked by it in the first place. Just be out doors and this after all is an outdoor game. If its up to debate to make changes i have this to add to cabin fever. If you get cabin fever there is a way to get rid of it by completing a task. Say you are in region A, and next to region A is region B and next to region B is region C. So lets say you get cabin fever in region A, if you manage to travel to region C your cabin fever disappears. I mean cabin fever is all about going out, so travelling to a different region plays into that.

  16. lol nice setup, but just yesterday i saw a docu of a couple getting lost in the amazones. They had a compass and they went south. To get back to their house they had to go North. So why they go away from their house? The problem was they read the map upside down

  18. Searched all the sports for the heavy hammer on Mystery lake. Was around the camp house so it was naturally for me to proceed onwards to Forloren Muskeg. The difficulty was stalker, i have played on interlopper before but i only play rarely now. Some days earlier i had missclicked and eaten raw bear meat. The punishment for that mistake was swift and i got internal parasites. My energy bar was getting lower and lower. I think max energy was somewhere around 50% to 75%. Anyway i came from the fishing huts to try and find the hammer there in the night. I came to the campsite didnt even go inside since there is no hammer in there. So i walked onwards to Forloren muskeg. I was freezing already and tired. I made it to the train wreck. Clothes was wet as it had been snowing and also i wanted to experiement a little with the wet clothing mechanism. I started a fire not much only 6 hours. Enough to make water, sleep a little to get energy bar up and warm up clothes. When i woke up the weather was nice i wasnt freezing but there was a fog. I thought its alright im not freezing i have enough food and water and i can make a snowshelter. Everything was going according to the plan. I followed the railroad towards the forge. At some point i had to turn left, i decided i should turn left at this point. It was a nice walk. I think i got a little confused about my direction and where i was but it was okay. There was only one thing to worry about i was running low on energy. So i thought well im confused about my whereabouts, why not sleep for 1 hour the fog has maybe cleared up by then. Since it was warm i decided to just put the bedroll on the ground. Bang slap Bang! I woke up with a freeking bear mauling me. Well i guess i was in bear territory and i hadnt thought off it. The bear walked away leaving me to die with ~15% hp and bleeding. I quickly bandaged myself up ran away and treated my infection. Slowly the ground got more and more firm and raised about water level. I was out of the bog. But where was i and where should i go? I had a good idea about where i was on the map but i didnt knew the details of this region. I came across a bridge and that gave me a good indication that i was on the right track. But now it got dusk or night and it was time to hunker down since i knew there would be wolves on my path towards the forge. There is a cave nearby but i failed to located it so i put a fire near a cliff and hoped for the best. i think i put a fire of 3 hours and slept 2 hours. I woke up and the wind had changed and there was only a few minutes left of the fire. I put some sticks on the fire and now i was out of wood, i had coal but i wanted to save it. I managed to keep the fire going by finding sticks and put them on the fire. I was able to make another fire in cover behind a tree with a torch and at some point i had a fire of +1 hour going, so i made some tea to get warmth in my body and started sawing a firlog. That gave me 4 hour to the fire and gave me a good sleep. Also during all of this i had to keep track of the time of the day to eat mushroom tea to cure my internal parasites. Now i had healed up to about 40% hp. Time to make the final push. I came to the broken radio tower and i thought i heard a bear. i walked back. No way there is a bear here i thought and i walked forward again, again i heard a bear. What the. I thought there is no bear here and i walked forward and a wolf detected me. I shot it with my pistol but it got into melee mode. I pulled out my hatched started beating it as much as i could, the kill bar went up a little but then it got stagnate. I didnt have energy in me. But then just as it got grim the wolf left me. I was now down to 12% hp i think. I proceeded onwards. I was freezing again. It was still dark but i could see all the way to the forge. I took a stim, it gave me energy and hp but now i found it very hard to see. Damm it, i cant sneak around the wolf now. Obviously the wolf detected me as i was careless about it, i thought this is it i have to shoot it. But i cant see it only its green eyes. I waited till it got closer. It strafed me all the way, it would not run directly at me. I couldnt let it get any closer anymore so I took the shot and it died. Phew that was close. I beelined the rest of the way to the forge and made it for a good sleep and heal. The next morning i got up and found the heavy hammer outside of the hut hehee.
