  1. I wonder if there's a glitch in my game, then. I'll have to do some more exploring. Thanks for the tip!
  2. Magical icicles? I came across this ominous sight this evening. Has anyone seen these bones just out lying on the ground? I've only ever seen them in the bear caves. I know a bear hangs out in this area, but I didn't find a cave in the near vicinity (this is in Coastal Highway in the Bear Creek Campground area).
  3. Oh snap! I had no idea you could go higher up. I'll have to check this out.
  4. Pictures from my recent climb to the summit of Timberwolf Mountain. An eerie green tinge to the sky for some reason. The mountain skyline in the distance with those ominous green clouds. Don't look down...don't look down...OK, I looked down. The Mountaineer's Cabin is down there somewhere. Way, way down.
  5. Some random screenshots from my last couple of days: Cool sparkly snowflakes looking up through the hole in the cavern between Pleasant Valley and Mystery Lake (on way to Carter Dam area). A full moon seen through trees on the Old Connector (between Coastal Highway and Desolation Point). Sunrise over Coastal Highway lake. Nice sunrise over Pleasant Valley mountains. I love the peach tones here. My new rabbit sidekick (it was a glitch--it was running in place). And some magical floating sticks!
  6. I love watching my food frolic in my front yard Yeah, the game looks *amazing*. I've almost been killed by wolves several times because I've been looking at the new and improved graphics. Gorgeous.
  7. Here are some shots I really liked. The first 2 are taken from above Mystery Lake at sunset. The last one is with my back to Mystery Lake, looking at the trees and snowy slopes at sunset.
  8. I had to stop myself from looting everything, too. I got lucky on my first successful run that I stumbled onto the prepper's food cache between the trapper's cabin and the unnamed pond (which was the route I used to get to the cabin office). I would probably try to go right to the dam instead of taking that route. Fluffy didn't run away from me at all. I got attacked badly the first (unsuccessful) time I tried the challenge. I didn't have a knife. The second time I had one, and I think you really need that if you're going to get into close-quarters combat with the animal. I tried to shoot it, but it came up on me too quickly in the darkness. I haven't figured out how to switch effectively between the lantern or a flare and the gun, so I had to rely on the knife when I missed Fluffy with the gun. Pleasant Valley posed no problem for me. It was Timberwolf Mountain that was the kicker. I kept freezing and didn't have an axe (until I summited), so that was a thing. I also got caught in several blizzards and had to hunker down and wait for visibility.
