  1. Thats why I for one am very, utterly glad that Scurvy was NOT added to existing saves. I would've been quite frustrated if my 220 day old stalker would need to suddenly take care of this whilst probably having wasted a lot of vitamine C sources already. I look forward to my next run to see how it plays with Scurvy enabled, when I have the chance to anticipate it and behave accordingly. But I'm pretty sure that if Scurvy would've been added to existing saves and people would start loosing them because they can't find enough vitamine C, the Echoes of the community would be much louder. So thank you for doing the right choice. /signed by probably all Stalker and Interloper players
  2. Yes reported this a bug - for some reason though it only happens on male readouts, not the ones from the femal security officer.
  3. So today a long awaited Diablo 4 update was released and The Contanimation Zone in TLD... I haven't played the new D4 update yet But I've spend the past 5 hours exploring the new region on pilgrim and I still haven't seen all of it (I'm missing at least one key). What a fantastic region, I can't wait to enter it on my Stalker run and continue the tales, I wonder what else I might discover. Thank you for this update, I love it!
  4. Awesome update, thank you very much! I was also very excited when I've read about the new scurvy affliction, I suggested something similar in the old forum back in 2015 and now it's finally implemented: Now, can we get rid of Cabin Fever please?
  5. When I was reading the first few lines I thought this is going to be an announcement to discontinue the game pass or worse, the development of TLD altogether. Thank the gods it was only about a delay. Don't stress yourself too much out about that, as most I prefer quality over quantitiy too and for us players there are other things in life than TLD (hopefully). If anything it puts less stress on my personal schedule with summer time coming up and the release of Diablo 4, because although I am playing TLD sind 2014, whenever something new is being released in TLD, it jumps right to the top of things I want (need) to do
  6. Yes I know that others had better RNG luck but I've also read from people experiencing the same as I have, here and on reddit. I wish they would've limited the RNG to places within the region with the tower, so that if you picked up everything in the first bunker you'd find the rest in the region with the 2nd radio tower and so on. And again, Carter Hydro Dam without any items besides having tons of cables lying around everywhere is quite odd.
  7. Hi all, I've finished the Quest last week and had quite some fun for the most part. Here are my thoughts about the latest expansion based on my Stalker experience (yours might be different thanks to RNG gods/difficulty setting). My route was: Airfield -> BRR -> FM -> BI -> FM -> MT -> HRV -> MT -> ML -> PV -> CH -> PV -> ML -> FM -> BRR -> Airfield The Good it provides real incentive to explore the world (again) other than simply collecting items it does not feel too arbitrary and fits well into survival/sandbox play the voice acting of the reports is superb and unexpected, this was the first time in over a thousand hours that someone actually "talked" to me in survival the story itself is intriguing albeit still very confusing I love the new bunker design new food items one can carry around without attracting predators aurora spawn times seem to be drastically increased while questing (not 100% sure that this isn't true without quest) bunkers are near the map entrance items needed for repair are for the most part near by (see The Ugly) The Bad personally, I didn't like that the Radio Mechanic is coupled to Auroras/Glimmer Fog (which is even worse, no visibility) the bunker in Pleasant Valley is too close to a bear den MT and PV require you to haul a 20kg battery over quite some stretch and one has to either walk really slow or strip and track back cache placement is often in or one has to cross through predator territory but the loot they contain are rarley worth the risk, especially post 100 days survived wolf encounters are almost unavoidable to reach some places (Tower in FM), I don't like wasting bullets on animals I don't intend to eat I didn't like that the last bunker had me track all the way back to the starting point The Ugly Carter Hydro Dam, the most obvious place I would've expected to find wires and fuses in all maps, did not contain any of them Up until PV I've found items necessary for repair either close by or brought some from previous bunkers. But PV was a real let down, I was still missing a wire and couldn't find wires or fuses in all the obvious places Pleasant Valley (Radio Hut, Barn, Farmstead, Crossing) and eventually had to go to CH's Quonset Garage to finally get the missing wire. It seems the game expected me to reach PV via CH but that feels like twice the distance crossing way more predators then reaching PV via Winding River (which exits near Radio Hut). So that's it, as said, all in all I had good fun for almost a week, playing a few hours after work every day and I already miss having an incentive to continue to play, I am looking forward to (hopefully) more signals to find and tales to hear. Side note: as a seasoned player who on this playthrough has already looted all of the maps in this scavanger hunt before Signal Void was released, I would've preferred that it were limited to the new maps in the DLC, even if it would've ment to delay the release to after more maps are released. I think the Signals are a great way to have players explore the new maps and I hope that future tales will be centered around the DLC.
  8. I'm in the same spot, I am missing one wire and can't find one in all places that one would expect some (Signal Hill, Farmstead, Thompsons, Outbuildings). Even worse, in the whole of Carter Hydro Dam of all "technical" places there was not a single wire or fuse. I had quite some fun so far but this is quite the bummer, now I have to go all the way to CH in hopes that Quonset will have some wires, who designed the DLC like that and why?
  9. Thank you both, guess I'm heading back to BI once I'm done in HRV.
  10. So I found the bunker in BI and listened inside to the recording after clicking on the protocol. I've now fixed the tower in MT and noticed that the journal still says that I need to find Bunker Alpha in BI. Is this bugged or did I miss something?
  11. I actually don't The acorns require you to carry along 2kg of dead weight in form of a heavy hammer (which usually can be found in the vicinity of forges, no need to bring one along) and it's much easier to kill rabbits with stones than with the bow, especially if Archery is not maxed and you can't crouch while aiming.
  12. This has been discussed and debated many times since CF was introduced back in what, 2017 or so? Most - me included - don't like the mechanic, it's just counter-intuitive to leave your cosy home to spend a night under the stars. But to date this is the only mechanic which prevents camping in one place, which was very popular before CF to boost the number of days survived. People would load up on food and then spend weeks in the bed sleep/eating, which is why CF was added. But over the years this has become more like a nuisance than a real problem, even on Interloper because there are caves all over the maps which are usually warm enough without a fire except for blizzards or very cold nights, depending on your cloths also.
  13. Fair question. It wouldn't bother me probably because I play both but I see what you mean. For context, the original hardest mode was always Stalker. They added Interloper as a hardcore mode and that's why I'd say it's okay to treat it differently from the other mode. Would it be the other way around then I'm sure they would explain it in a way I could understand, but this hardly would make any sense because as said, Interloper is a special mode. Having said that, given the Sh-Storm that this decision has created, I wouldn't be surprised if they decide to add it to loper in a future update. But again, I am certain that the joy some will feel then will very quickly be diminished, once they realize what little they've got for how much trouble they went through.
  14. I wonder if any of the Interloper player who are complaining about Tales missing, have played the new content on Stalker at all? I have and I also played alot of Interloper and I really don't see the two mix well. Tales gameplay is more action-like, you run around with a rifle, crossing wolf/bear infested territory because that's where the signal is pointing you, some caches might even be within the territory of a pack of aurora wolves. Good luck with that, you might get one with a bow but hardly ever three. And you wouldn't get anything more than you might get from the bunkers which - as mentioned - are now in Interloper too. I don't say it wouldn't be possible but you'd have to be much much more careful with way less rewards than on Stalker. And spare me the ideas like "oh, one extra pack of herbal tea or coffee would've made this all worthwile". No, it wouldn't. On Interloper to survive forever you need firestarters, cloths, an axe, pot, bedroll and bow and everything else is just extra. Personally it doesn't bother me at all that it is not in Interloper. If anything I'm glad that it's missing because although I play loper with a survival mind, reducing aurora trips to a bear minimum, I know myself well enough that I'd try. And then my 500 days run gets eaten by a wolf and I'd go to the forum complaining about who in their right mind decided to add Tales to Interloper What I do like though is that Stalker has got a reason to be played again, booting up those memories of the good old days when there was no Interloper in the game and every playthrough was made with a rifle. I would've wished though that the new mechanics weren't based on auroras because I really don't like (waiting for) auroras.
  15. but have you ever found more than one blue or more than one yellow signal in one transmitter radius?
  16. oh okay, good to know. On first glance the map looked like just the Airfield, will take a closer look. Thanks!
  17. What I haven't figured out yet: is there alway just one yellow/blue signal per transmitter site or can be there more? And has each transmitter always a yellow and a blue signal? Lastly, does the transmitter cover the whole map, like all of Airfield or all of FM?
  18. You mean listening while I'm playing TLD? Nothing, I'm too stressed out about every noise in the game as it is and can't stomach any distraction outside of the game. Yesterday I was walking around in the airfield and heard some distant barking, then some unfamiliar barely noticable whistling. I thought they've added some new sound effects and something behind the corner might jump me, turns out it was my son who was sitting on the couch playing (soundless) on the xbox and whistling Sabaton's Devil Dogs quitely to himself Sidenote: really proud of my parenting skills, my 9-year old has already developed a great taste for music
  19. To the people complaining that Tales are not in Interloper - but you did get the point that Bunkers now are part of Interloper, right? So if you need a reason to explore the maps, that's quite a valid reason. That being said, yes I was a bit surprised too that Tales are not part of loper but then, so are many other things and the concious choice by the Dev team to not add it, certainly does not warrant the hostility some are displaying in this thread. Besides, what you might get in loper is not really worth the hassle, even in Stalker after finding some caches I asked myself why I went into the trouble of waiting for an aurora, being attacked by an aurora wolf because I was so focused on the signal, despite having shot him twice with my Rifle, only to find a cache full of flares and a flashlight. The only reason for my to go on is the
  20. The game updated and steam shows that is was updated today but the loading screen does not indicate any changes. It still says DLC01 and the latest news are Dev Update Feb 23. It this right or will this be changed later? [EDIT] ah after clicking on Survival I see Part Two Signal Void available.
  21. Yesss, finally something to bring down the weight of the rifle, I've been waiting for something like this for years. All the more motivation to play through Signal Void 👍
  22. It's thursday here in Switzerland, at what time will it be released?
  23. I find wind (not only blizzards) and waterfalls too loud.
