Can opening options

As an alternate to the can opener, it might be nice to be able to open cans of food with the hatchet or even the crowbar. But say there's a degradation of the food amount from having to pry or cut or beat the can open. Something like the hatchet gives 60-70% of value. The crowbar gives 40-50%. You can shoot a can open with the rifle and get 20-30%.

If I was starving and close to death, but had cans of food and no specific tool, I'd be damned determined in finding some way to open them. Plus I like the potential scene of hunting for game, finding nothing, being stuck out in the middle of nowhere and having to use a precious bullet to blast open a can of pork and beans to stave off death a bit, all the while cursing the loss of much of the value.
