Good Evening all.

First, let me say, the game was working perfectly fine yesterday with out issue.

I turned off my monitors, went to bed, and woke up to go to work.

I then came home, turned on my monitors and tried to launch the game and this all started.

Whenever I launch it from within Steam or from the EXE, Windows comes back with "tld.exe has stopped working."

I have uninstalled and reinstalled the game.

I have verified the local content.

I have uninstalled and reinstalled graphics drivers with the latest and greatest.

I have updated my chipset drivers.

I have uninstalled and reinstalled the VCredirect "Visual C++ Redistribution 2010"

I have rebooted multiple times.

I deleted my saved game data from "%USERPROFILE%AppData\LocalLow\hinterland"

Still to no avail.

Any and all help would be appreciated.

Thank you for your time.

Best Regards,

Check this out...

http://www.sevenforums.com/gaming/31342 ... crash.html

Also are you running the program from an external HDD?

Maybe give this video a try too...

Not a PC Xpert but basically this file... ntdll.dll is fucked up. Have to try to replace it, keep the original incase it doesnt fix ur issue.

Do a system restore event before hand incase you bork your system.

Good point.

Here is the start of the output log.

Initialize engine version: 4.5.3p4 (80c2d1be1221)

D3D11 initialization failed
D3D9/D3D11 initialization failed, trying OpenGL
GfxDevice: creating device client; threaded=1
OpenGL:

Renderer: AMD FirePro W7000 (FireGL V)
Vendor: ATI Technologies Inc.
VRAM: 3072 MB (via DXGI)

The rest is attached.

I have tried pretty much everything on those posts other than wiping and starting again.

I had to boot to an ERD Commander disc since ntdll.dll is a file that can only be replaced when the system is not operational.

That is something the videos and the posts never tell you.

Looking over your debug log I see that all the files are in a folder called Windows\syswow64 on my machine everything is in the Program Files (x86) folder. Did you perhaps install a 32bit application before installing the long dark and steam defaulted it to the syswow64 folder?

Yes, they are in the steam install directory. Steam is installed to the x86 directory.

I have found the issue, or at least it is working now.

There was a program that was silently installed by AMD/ATI call raptr with the driver and software suite.

I have since uninstalled that and I am able to play again.

Such an odd odd thing. The program was supposed to optimize graphical settings and it broke everything for me.

Thank you for your time and urgency to this matter.

I do greatly appreciate the game and all the hard work that has been put into it thus far!
