ArrayKnight
I have been shooting things like storm lanterns and jerry cans and it doesn't appear to have any effect. I was hoping for an explosion, but it's not a big deal if that doesn't happen. But at the very least it should set the condition to 0% (because the fuel leaked out the bullet hole). What do you think? Is this a bug or a feature request?
Hinterland Raphael van Lierop Posted June 14, 2014 Hinterland Share Posted June 14, 2014 Feature request/wish list.To be honest, the rifle is one of the more recent additions to the game, so that you have a chance to hunt for your meat (a system we'll be expanding). We haven't really done a pass on how shooting effects the environment for the most part.Definitely a wish list; we'll add it. (I feel sorry for the poor player who wastes precious bullets shooting objects vs. potential food...)

robdoar
To be realistic, they wouldn't actually explode. (Fuel / Air Mix)A lit lantern may make a big pool of fire, but no satisfying explosion.
Hinterland Raphael van Lierop Posted June 14, 2014 Hinterland Share Posted June 14, 2014 To be clear, when I said "we'll add it" above, I meant we'll add it to the wishlist. Not promising we'll add anything like this to the game, except perhaps inflicting damage on gear objects that get shot.Depending on how sophisticated a damage model we decide to take on, could be interesting having a precious gear item block a bullet and take the fall for you.(Alan's having a heart attack as he reads this...)
