Map making

Given that I am keeping a log, presumably I have pen/pencil and paper. So, what if as soon as I discover an area, e.g. Unnamed Pond, I would add it to my map. It doesn't need to be a good map or to scale or anything, and it shouldn't be, but perhaps just the names with lines connecting the other place names. That's something I was trained to do in survival situations: mark landmarks and add a note as to how long it takes to walk from one to another.

I've been kind of doing this out of the game.. But an ingame feature would be cool as well.
