Is playing TLD on Imac a good Idea?

Hello there, I'm having hard time playing TLD on my Imac. I run both windows 8.1 through bootcamp and mac sierra on my Imac 27 inch i7.

On my windows partition the game runs just fine but I wanted to try it on my mac side and installed steam downloaded the game but it's unplayable... extremely slow!! Am I missing something? any ideas on how to fix the problem? Any help will be appreciated
