Boiling an unopened can of sweetened condensed milk is the safest way of "gentle heating" it. Other way it may explode. (Experienced that myself. The most unpleasant part was the cleaning of the kitchen ceiling.)

That reminds me that I mean to try making banoffee pie at some point. I'll should probably wait for a potluck though, so I don't make myself insulin-resistant. I've been one since I was 13 or so, and I'm 30 now, but I didn't know we can become insulin resistant from eating sweets x.x I just try to avoid eating too much sweets unless I have low blood sugar! Mel Guille
Not diabetic myself, no. I just meant that banoffee pie is a sugar-overload dessert. I have a bit of a sweet tooth, so I try not to let it get out of control!
Darkestnight
Ahh that makes sense Be glad you aren't one, and I pray you never become one! Though I will admit, I used to have quite the sweet tooth myself XD
deathbydanish
It'd be interesting if you could do this to sweetened condensed milk that's about to go bad (that's what I did IRL). But maybe not make it drinkable in one gulp, I don't see how anyone could being as thick as it is.
