We have the ability to zoom in when wielding the flare pistol, rifle or bow.  This zooming is attached to the aiming action.  That is you can zoom your eyesight with natural ability and no optics.  The flare pistol and rifle have no optical lens attached and yet there is some level( maybe 10x) of magnification occurs when aiming.

The suggestion is to allow this same level of zoom naturally and with out having to use the pistol.
