I feel that seeing your wounds as you patch yourself up would give the game a grittier feel. Not far cry level, but you see the blood as you heal.

Following your line of thought -- you'd like to be able to look down at your complete body as you patch yourself up? Or were you imagining something less ambitious?

this feels like something that would take lots of work to implement, but would only be cool to see like the first couple of times. this is a first person game and not seeing my own body is not that important to me.

Maybe the earlier on in the game, the easier it would be to pass out again? Some people are very prone to fainting.

It can be hard to implement a body but I think that hands are needed on the rifle, nowhere else

looking down on your body as you do it. getting blood on your hands and such.
