eyeofthetiger
I read that in ancient times, bones were used for tools of all kinds, although what I'm primarily interested in is arrow points, knives, and fishing hooks. I don't know if crafting bone would make the game too easy, since you can usually find something dead everywhere, but I think at least crafting arrow heads out of stone or bone would be a bit more realistic than forging them out of metal scraps with no prior experience in smithying. They could also add spears with these kind of materials, like one shaft per birch sapling and then craft a spear head.
Boston123
With hand tools, boneworking is a gigantic pain in the ass, to the point where I personally prefer working with metal instead. It is far easier and safer to file a piece of scrap sheet metal into an arrowhead than it is to do the same with bone. Plus, faster.
