Rusty_Old_F250
I would love to see an update too, but I'm sure they're working on it, and if they're as close as I think they are, they're better off putting everything they have into story mode. They really can't afford to mess up the release, a late one is quickly forgotten and forgiven, an untested buggy release is remembered forever. (SimCity anyone?) MarrowStone
Im patient and can wait, but has anyone else noticed that the announcements/rules are gone from the top of the page? Spoilers below? Also, i wanted to point out in one of the trailers/update videos, a new character appeared, a female that wears glasses and doesnt look like astrid. Also, has anyone else gotten the vibe that methusela may be a bad-guy? He seems good and all, but for some reason the part showing his glasses lit in fire doesnt sit well with me. Rusty_Old_F250
@MarrowStone Yeah having those gone is kinda odd. Which trailer was that? i don't recall that one Sam

Rusty_Old_F250
Yeah that one's driving me nuts (and I'm already crazy to start with!) A buddy of mine saw Methuselah in the trailer and said "So I see they've added you to the game!" I'd be ok with that! Sam

Despite the glasses and piercings, the face looks very similar. I see the resemblence, but i dont believe it is Astrid. (Really bad evidence to support my claim, but:) Shes on a computer or seems to be on one, which may mean its a weather researcher/tech specialist of somekind. And going by doctor stereotypes, astrid wouldnt have 3 piercings on her face. (Ikik some doctors have piercings) Also, ever wonder what the red flag means at the trappers cabin in the main menu? And the red strips of cloth on Astrid's arrows during the story trailer? Are they markers? Do they signify being part of some sort of group? And back to the computer.. does it work? Anyways, i may be overanalyzing things, but it seems we have a new character. And an iffy chance methuselah is up to something.
togg
Seems like Astrid to me. If she's not they would overlap and that's no good. Great 3D model by the way
McGuffin
Sadly I noticed that the Steam review trollers are starting to downvote the game because the EA is too long. I never understood why people who don't understand what "early access" implies, still purchase such game...

I never understood why people who don't understand what "early access" implies, still purchase such game... Interesting topic. Here is the thing... I think people is completely entitled to buy an Early Access game and them complain about the time it takes to deliver the product, when it surpases the original estimations... Which is, sadly, most of the times. Most of the EA projects tend to provide a generic and "approximate" release date (ie, summer 2017), which is then constantly moved forward. During 2014 I decided to jump into three early access games, and none of them is completed three years later. I understand the timelines being modified by either unexpected issues or an increase in the game scope based on the success of the EA campaign, but I also understand and feel the frustration around waiting for something during several years. I love the EA concept, and I love to have the chance to experiment first hand a development cycle. However I really think that a most realistic approach to deadlines is needed if this system wants to have any future. Its certainly not the case with TLD, which is already an incredibly good game worth every penny, but (again, sadly) is not the general rule with early access. Most of them get stuck, they don't get shipped, and if they do, their design cores are downgraded and the final user (and backer) is dissapointed. cekivi
Out of curiosity @Ohbal which 3 games did you back? To date I've only backed two games on Early Access (plus a few kickstarters) and I've been very happy with the results As an aide, Darkest Dungeon (the other Early Access game I bought) is amazing

It is made perfectly clear what you are purchasing. You are not entitled to complain about a delay in or lack of development.

You can complain to people that have struggles complete a difficult thing as a videogame? This is shocking. Those people have a life, they're normal people. One thing is complaining if someone scam you explicitelly, another if things simply don't work out perfectly. Just to recap it in my head: 1) videogames, especially 3D ones, need a lot of time to make. Everything push the devs to underestimate the time needed, this distorted view is not their fault. 2) Life is hard, if you put 10$ into something and then be half happy it's ok. We are not those that live or die with 10$. Also the point of early is that it's a process that can go well or not so well. 3) Complaining to self employed workers means hurting people deeply. Bottom line: the future will not be better by trying enforcin stricter/realistical deadliness or anything like that. Just learning to manage expectation together in a more relaxed way.
