Bear Traps!

Why shoot at bears and probably be attacked when you can just trap them right their!

(Note do not step in them or it will cause massive problems. Possibly made in the forge?)

I can sympathize with your reason for wanting this, but I'm not convinced its a good fit for the game...  I have a feeling these would be pretty difficult to make--a little too difficult to be realistic imo.  They're not something you would be likely to find either. 

Do you think the bears are currently too hard to kill/avoid?

I don't care for the idea of steel bear traps as a craftable item. As a blacksmith, I would love to see more forging in the game, but I can tell you that a bear trap would be so costly and time consuming to make by forging, that I don't find it realistic. Most of the parts on a bear trap are cast, not forged, and for good reason. Perhaps a steel bear trap could go in the game as a very rare item that is so heavy to carry that it would require real strategy to transport and use. I am totally for the idea of trapping bears, and I have suggested it in another topic, however, my idea for trapping them was to create a spiked deadfall trap that would take a huge investment of time to dig.
