Barretts Privateer
...would put a campsite so close to A BLOODY BEAR DEN!? I mean, c'mon people, that's just asking for it. Yes, I'm talking about Bear Creek Campground...I've mulled over this for a while, just wanted to know what all you have to say.
selfless
Maybe it was the other way round? Then Yogi moved in because of all the pic-i-nic baskets. "Bear Creek" does kinda suggest otherwise though...
MarrowStone
This literally entered my mind just today, what a coincidence.
ArmagedDan
Have you entertained the possibility that the campground was FOR the bears? I mean look at the facts. If you went somewhere far away from any bear paths or habitats, in the middle of known human country, and sat down at Human Creek Campground, how surprised would you even be if a human came by and mauled you to death? I posit that our metaphorical bear traveler would be the interloper here.

Lovehandel
If it was an active campground the MNR would have moved the bear or the bear would have never moved in.
MarrowStone
The bear perhaps moved in after the event. And its not like "Bear Creek" is an uncommon sounding name. I live next to a river named "Skunk" but the population there is pretty normal.
Fuarian
I don't think it used to be near a Bear den. I think the Bear made it's home nearby after the people... suddenly left the area (died).
