mystifeid
Crafting arrows and hitting animals provide archery skill points. By not fishing or using snares and hunting every deer, wolf and rabbit in sight as you move from map to map, it is possible to reach level 5 archery skill before/around day 80. Compared to the skills that can be improved with books, the only one that I have leveled as fast was carcass harvesting. If archery skill books were introduced it would be necessary to remove skill points gained from crafting arrows.
LonelySurvivor
I wouldn't mind more fur clothing options. Archery books I'll pass though.

Hotzn
It could be made so that skill progression requires both accumulating skill points and reading the relevant books. So for reaching level 2, for example, you would need to accumulate X points and also read at least one book. And so on for the higher levels. There could also be other prerequisites, like crafting a minimum number of bows or hitting the target behind the Outbuildings in PV with 50 shots. You know... to become a real master... Something like this would be great.
