junglegreen
In several of the houses there is a door just off one of the rooms that you cannot open. Could it lead to a useable cellar. that would be great to store kit
Kirby
The size of buildings and density of loot is very carefully tuned I assume. Also I think very few of those huts would have basements in reality. I think a little broom closet would be more appropriate, but I agree that those doors should be usable. JErosion
The game is also littered with a large number of placeholders, its possible that once the game is finished those basement doors will open to us.. revealing so many more horrors
EmotiveScissors
Some of the buildings are procedural generated... particularly the cabins and small houses on the coastal highway. These buildings are all built randomly each time a new play-through is created. The small houses on the Coastal Highway map for all have a basement door inside that is inaccessible. Whether this will be added later is unclear, but because of the cookie cutter nature of the procedural generation of the buildings it is understandable.
