I Found Some "Thing" In Forlorn Muskeg

20 posts in this topic

So I found this "Thing" under the ice in Forlorn Muskeg.

Should I dig it up?

Did you ever wonder why fluffy is acting so strange compared to the other wolves? :)

John Carpenter was right, don't pull it up!!

It does open the possibility for an interesting MOD somewhere down the road if a person had the knack for it.

Hey at least it's not a Zombie....

Don't dig it up...you know that always something bad happens when people dig these things up! :P

Looks like it could be a juvenile Greater Spotted Arctic Graboid.

Probably hibernating this time of year.

Are we gonna expect some easter egg about "The Thing" in TLD, only on Forlorn Muskeg? That would be awesome! Perhaps some flashback during sleep.

I wouldn't look under the ice, but you may find a few subtle tips of the hat to The Thing in game already! ;)

... guys.... GuYss! is this why all the corpses look the same!? And all the wolves and deer and bear do too?

Btw I havent watched the movie but thanks to this Im going to watch both this, and "The Road" because I can see where both would have references in-game.

@Patrick Carlson, so to clarify without spoilers are you saying there are "easter eggs" currently in the sandbox, or were you talking more in the lines of similar themes/art existing?

My advice would be to watch the movie and then decide for yourself what themes you feel might be similar to what you see in The Long Dark. ;)

I never got a chance to see it because apparently nobody I know seems to know about it, strange.

It is a classic ^_^

You should be able to find a DVD version. It may even be on Netflix now. I remember seeing either the original or the prequel/remake on there a few months ago.

@MarrowStone

It does have the dude's face at the corner, but if you can't find it elsewhere, I guess this will do the trick. Enjoy it while it lasts! :)
