Explain this one, cause I sure can't... sprained ankle while sitting in snow shelter

I was in a snow shelter to escape the blizzard that had rolled in.  I was wasting time just looking at my journal, when all of the sudden, SNAP!!  My ankle is now sprained.  I was not moving, I was sitting still in the shelter looking at my journal.  Explain that one.  Seriously, WTF?

Sprained both ankles in quick succession while tending to a fire that I could see outside the shelter.

Character was inside.  Trying to recover from hypothermia.  Clicked "add fuel".  Sprained ankle.  What? 

Then again a game hour later.  Same situation.  I may have gotten out to grab more sticks in between.

For a while now I have gotten sprains in circumstances that definitely did not warrant a sprain.  I got a sprained wrist walking into the Mountaineers Hut, I've  gotten a few sprains from just turning my view, not even moving my body.  I once sprained my ankle taking one step backward on level ground.  I also sprained a wrist when looking down to pick up a stick.  On none of these occasions was I encumbered.  

I'm not sure what triggers the sprains, but it could use some work.  It's an aspect of gameplay I have just learned to live with.
