Traveling between maps. Can I go back the same way?

I recently went passed the tunnel in Mystery Lake to the Ravine to look for some supplies, ended up in Coastal Highway. I was wondering can I go back to Mistery Lake by the same route or do I need to find a new one? Thanks!

For most connection maps (including the Ravine) the answer is: Yes, you can go back and forth between the two maps on the very same route. There is one exception (Winding River) where the way into one direction is slightly different than the way back, but even there you can change between the maps as often as you like.
