Decay rate question

Do items such as raw meat decay faster at room temperature or frozen like real world in the game? I ask due to the following incident. When i killed a bear I harvested everything and had to leave about 40 lbs raw meat down by the bear. Went into a mine (literally right by tho bear) and dropped about 40 lbs down and went to grab the rest. The meat outside were in worse condition than those inside. Leaving me to believe that you cant freeze meat to preserve it longer.

That's correct.

raw meat on carcasses/floor will decay super fast (inside even faster). cooked meat in an outdoor container will decay slowly.

Yeh I also not sure on all aspects. Though I think there a quite a few variables in play with how meat degrades. maybe something like below.

• Harvest time
• Raw vs Cooked
• Storage
• Map coldness (TWM is great)
• overall age?

in twm, even meat that you carry on you decays veryyyy slowly.
