I havent tried stalker in the new patch, so im thinking if stalker was made harder or easier in the latest patch or no change?

Changes would be negligible in the grand scheme of things considering you've never tried it. The changes to wildlife scarcity and weather conditions over time may make it harder, but the biggest killer of  players first trying stalker is within the first few days,  due to the tougher weather, less generous loot, and wolves. 

Give it a try. It will test your decision making in the early game.

To the best of my knowledge there were no announced changes to Stalker aside from the two @LucidFugue already mentioned: gradual global temperature decrease and lower rate of wildlife spawn.
