How does a coffee affect fatigue?

When you do nothing but stand you have 1 arrow pointing to the left on the fatigue gauge. When walking there're 2 arrows pointing to the left. And when sprinting there are 3 arrows which mean fatigue is increasing quite fast. When you drink a coffee you get an icon "PLUS". What exactly happens when you drink a coffee as the arrows remain the same. I would expect to temporarily get rid of one arrow as a benefit from drinking coffee.

The "plus" means fatigue loss is being reduced. My guess is the fatigue is reduced by "half" an arrow but I have no evidence for this. What I can say is ropes that I can't climb without coffee I can climb with coffee.

Climbing ropes with coffee - nice one :) Good hint. Thank you!
