I'm not very good at loading video content, so I don't always get the results I intended.

Your post is what I was trying to do.   Thanks

At least on Firefox, you can just copy and paste a YouTube-link and it'll automatically load, the forum software here is pretty sophisticated.

Yeah, we're gonna need a bunch o' these - give these poor souls (read: everyone who died in the sandbox ever) a good, nice, eternal restin' place.

Remember this the next time you get mauled by the wildlife, your snares catch nothing, your canned food rots, your knife breaks, your hatchet snaps, your rifle refuses to be useful. your fires just won't start, walking down a pile of snow breaks your bones, you get food poisoning and parasites at the same time...

... have I missed some kinda suck?

Self-explanatory ;)

Random thoughts going through my head:

Is this the latest in hipster music? I'd have to ask some of my hipster coworkers . . .

Oh, the percussion is a bunch of tin cans? Dig that!

*at the end of the video* They're looking pretty dented now. Wonder how often he has to replace them? After every set? How many canned peaches and pork and beans a day does he have to eat? Maybe the other guys help him eat?

Enjoyed this one!

The song is basically about being free from the shackles of modern life, a feeling that TLD gives me pretty often - you may have problems, but those are tangible problems with immediate solutions. It's hard, it's difficult but it's not complicated, get what I'm saying? If there is interest, I will translate the lyrics.

'After we Shot the Grizzly' - The Handsome Family

The Long Darkiest Song I can think of by a mountain mile, at least as far as cataloguing woeful fates.

After we shot the grizzly
After the airship crashed
After we lost the compass
After the radio went dead

We shot and ate the horses
We marched through deadly swamps
Inside a limestone cave
I found a human skull

Yes, Mary
I found a human skull

The captain caught a fever
We tied him to a tree
We stared into the fire
And tried not to hear his screams

I killed a tiny antelope
Not scared by my approach
We turned it over dying flames
As we huddled in the glow

Yes, Mary
We huddled in the glow

We built a raft from skin and bones
Only five could safely float
The others stood upon the shore
They screamed and threw sharp stones

Yes, Mary
They threw the sharpest stones

But how the sea did spin us
How the waves did roar
The captain jumped into the storm
Then we were but four

One by one, we chose our straws
'Til only I remained
But Mary, you are with me now
All around me in the waves

Yes, Mary
You are in the waves
