anomrabbit
Hi folks,I really enjoy reading, but I'm beginning to grow bored with my usual fare -- epic sci-fi and fantasy series, long mystery series, and non-fiction books about food, farming, and technology.I'd like to start reading more historical non-fiction, particularly about the history of North America (pre-Columbian) and US history, because my knowledge is woefully inadequate in those areas. The problem is those are still fairly broad topics, and I have no idea where to start. Presidential biographies? War histories?I have a book on my to-read list called Founding Gardeners which I figure might be an easy transition from what I'm used to reading to this new topic, but I'd like to know if you-all have any suggestions. Thanks
andruin
If you want a book that doesn't gloss over things, try "A People's History of the United States" by Howard Zinn.Andruin
