I know this is jumping the gun, but are there any thoughts about future DLC for The Long Dark after TFTFT or is this a "once and done" (albeit, over many months) DLC and the only update similar to Cyberpunk 2077?

I saw someone on reddit who said they do not spawn in custom? Is that true? Has anyone else who play custom seen them? -
I have not played for a while because I am scared of losing my run from all the bugs i have heard about. Anyone know if I should be worried or wait until part 4.

I heard that a bear's coat scares away wolves. But when I put on this fur coat and went to the wolves, the wolves bit me! Please tell me, does a bear fur coat really scare away wolves or not???

So I've just started my modded TLD journey and have immediately hit rather an important snag! Hoping someone will know what I've done wrong. I've installed a few mods per instructions and got the game to work. Unfortunately... As soon as I spawned I realised there was a big problem. Went to pick up a stick LMB as usual... and couldn't! So I quit the game, removed QuickPick and ItemStack from the Mod directory to see if it was one of those. Reloaded TLD. Resumed game... still couldn't. So I tried starting a new game in case the fact I had deleted the above two somehow applied to resuming the game. Same problem on the new game. I went through the Mod Settings to see if I could work out what's going on but couldn't see anything which would prevent this. Also checked the regular Keybindings just in case but LMB was set to interact as usual. I do hope someone can help, I was so excited about better QoL I felt was needed after playing since 2016. Plus I froze my unmodded 200 day survivor into The Long Dark because I was starting to get bored with it anyway and thought I would start afresh. Thank you in advance!

when is the long dark based? It's somewhere in the 2000s it's hard to judge because there are laptops and computers. But also floppy discs and tapes. What do yout hink?

I was playing a quick game the other day with the goal of getting to the Summit on Interloper. I couldn't find a hacksaw in the plane, so I dropped down through the broken end to check the backpack that is there, but then I couldn't get up again! I'm sure I've got back up to the containers after dropping down there, but I couldn't make it work this time. Is it possible? Or did I dream it?

I’m not sure if anyone else has had this issue but I have collected all three survivors and brought them to the community hall. My map shows no more people to find yet my quest log only shows that I’ve collected one person. All three people are in their beds in the hall. Has anyone else experienced this and does anyone know how to fix this without completely restarting? The game will not let me move forward.

Hi everyone. Recently I've started playing red dead redemption 1. (I have the first disc for the second one but I don't know where the 2nd disc is.) And I noticed the revolver in the long dark is a double action. And I have used the foresters revolver and normal one. And they are both double action. But what about the wardens revolver and the hunters revolver? Isn't the hunters one supposed to be vintage? If anyone knows please tell me.

Is there a reason I cannot create ice fishing holes? I just recently discovered that you already have the blueprint for Tip-Ups, and wanted to place some at Pensive Pond and Long Curve River in Pleasant Valley, but even with a heavy hammer and prybar, I am unable to break the ice open because it's an "invalid location to place object." I can't break open the ice anywhere on Pensive Pond (ignoring the fishing hut), nor the Long Curve river near the transition zone towards Blackrock. Am I doing something wrong, or is this a bug?

So I was attacked by a timber wolf and tracked it down to see where it was going and wait for it to die but when I found it I was very scared and surprised I couldn’t believe it and I could still carve him up and it was freaky 😖 IMG_4191.MOV

I've looked in the 3 (youtube) areas and have yet to find it on my custom run. Has anyone else? If so, where?

So, I don't know if this is my crappy memory, confusing surroundings or what but something feels not right HRV is my least visited area, because, you know, It's kinda boring, the ice caves are tedious and I always get lost in them going in circles and wasting paint trying to mark my way. The only exciting thing about is the mysterious fire. I don't know the map by heart because I always get too excited to see smoke so I sprint like crazy passing everything by, hitting loot spots and not paying too much attention to my surroundings. Even though I've been through there a few times I still hope to find someone standing by the fire. I just have to be faster this time, to get there before they leave 😅 Alas... This time wasn't very different. I arrived through Milton, went straight ahead to the cliff, and saw smoke straight ahead of me on the other side of the valley "hmmm, I remember it being more to the right...nah, nevermind" I took a similar route, to the right, up the rope, left, bushes that block the way, a cave, and just when I thought I'm about to see the signal fire the clearing turned out to be empty Please, put my mind at ease, I was so sure this is where the fire used to be

Hey, guys Please, share your experience with killing a bear with a bow on level 1 vs level 5 How many hits it takes you? How long is the bleed-out (roughly) If you hit him just once does a bear eventually bleeds out or do you have to shoot him again?

"Almost empty" cans weight less than empty cans. I don't know why I never noticed this before, but I wonder if it's always been this way, and either nobody noticed, or nobody said anything. But I just noticed it for the first time today. Someone could technically use it as an "exploit" and save themselves some weight if they want to use the cans for cooking or making water later on... if they just eat MOST of what's in the can, apparently they can get it to a point where two cans only cost them .02KG rather than .30KG. Minor thing probably in the scheme of things, but I know sometimes those few KGs can make all the difference in the world! Like, for example, trying to get onto a rope. Anyways, just thought I'd report it. I searched the forums and could only find one thread mentioning of "cans", and it was about spray cans.

So… I may have found Reishi mushrooms. Found: On a tree stump in sparse pine forest, southeast US Texture: Leathery and rigid throughout Color: Dull red to orange on the cap; stem is very dark purple or brown; underside of cap is white. Smell: Smells like mushrooms you’d find in a grocery store. Some pictures below.

I'm about to start my first run with the expansion and I was wondering if the changes with each update are safe enough for it to be a long run. I know there are and will be some (totally understandable) issues as it's a work in progress, but I'm asking about game breaking issues. So, are you all doing test or temporary runs to try the new features waiting for the whole thing to be finished? Or are you playing normally and just carry on with the new content when it arrives? Not that it makes a huge difference, but I'd like to know because I do very different things after spawn when I'm planning to go the distance. Thanks in advance!

I came across those terms on this forum but never actually checked what they mean From a quick google search, I understand those are some kind of challenges? Can someone fill me in? Can I get in on that? And what was 4DON like? Will there ever be another one? Pardon my ignorance 😁 I first installed the Long Dark back in 2021 but just recently got into this whole forum community thing ps. If there are any other abbreviations\challenges out there, do tell
