  1. Fantastic project, great work! Looking forward to public release!
  2. I am glad the harvesting of fresh material with bare hands is back in update 2.27, very welcome in Interloper! It supposedly produces less food (not by much on rabbits though) but that's ok.
  3. There are a few mods around and a big one coming soon I think, but they are made by developers working on their own with their own findings and risking to have their mods breaking at the next TLD update. I would appreciate if the TLD team could provide an update to what they are planning in terms of modding for the community for example in the next dev log. It would be awesome to get some official guidance/API/tool etc. so more people can develop mods at some point in time.
  4. Yes I got much better at Interloper lately, after many attempts. What helps a lot is knowing the maps and where the interesting stuffs are.
  5. @Mistral had a nice proposal to make carcass harvesting more in line with current mechanics and realism, it is to enable fresh carcass harvesting with bare hands (fully, no tool required) starting from level 3 harvesting skill. I'd second this, probably the option that makes the most sense imo.
  6. That would be pretty cool actually, and not to many changes to current mechanics.
  7. The water melted this way would be unsafe as is the water which has been put onto a fire but not to a boiling point. We can drink it but with risk of affliction, or we can boil it or use purification tablets. Houses are often > 0°C inside. About your remark on bacteria, it may make sense but I suppose they will not want to change the current mechanic. What I am proposing are additions which are not breaking current mechanics.
  8. I'd have the following suggestions: Harvesting In recent update harvesting a fresh carcass with bare hands has been disabled. It requires a sharp tool to cut open first then may be harvested with bare hands. I think the change is a bit too drastic, making it impossible to cut open without a sharp tool is not realistic. With some patience, one may be able to cut open with a stick or stone provided the carcass is not frozen. I would suggest the following changes: - Add the notion of "cut open" when harvesting a fresh carcass. If no sharp tool, would be possible with a stick, stone, scrap metal and would require several attempts to succeed (this may also be a skill we may improve over time) provided the carcass is not frozen. - The more advanced the state of mouldiness would be, the easier the carcass would be to harvest with non sharp tool. Water handling I've always found weird we could die of dehydration in TLD where we are constantly surrounded by snow. I know "eating snow" could lead to hypothermia and so it is prevented which makes sense, but what about gathering snow into a container and placing it some time into a building where temperature is above 0°C? Water may be fresh and lower our body temperature a bit, but at least we would not dehydrate.
  9. I am not sure about that. Making it harder to harvest fresh carcass without sharp tool makes sense but making it impossible doesn't imo. I would have preferred a modification where there are attempts to cut open with a stick or a stone (some may be sharp). These attempts would fail often or take time but after a while could succeed. I made a post about this improvement here:
  10. Thanks for the tips, I will try that
  11. The change is not dramatic but makes the first steps in Interloper a little more difficult. For example I started in Ash Canyon, managed to survive a few days but still haven't found any tool nor bedroll. Hopefully there are plenty of Cattails stalks there, but all the rabbits I catch I cannot use, unlike earlier. No big deal, but I thought Interloper was hard enough as it was (I am talking about the first days mainly).
  12. Now we cannot harvest carcasses with bare hands anymore (unless they are found, but not those we kill ourselves), this creates a increased difficulty in Interloper mode, where we don't start with a knife or hatchet. Has this been taken into account by the design team? Interloper has just gotten more difficult with the recent updates.
  13. There is a download link in the comments of the video with a zip containing the maps shown into the video.
  14. Thanks all! The video is going to be useful indeed
  15. Well too late...! Loper is really a game of luck.
