  1. Yeah I mentioned this on here once years ago, the response was basically, no, and something about game difficulty. A whetstone lasts basically forever. This frustrates me too.
  2. let us know if it gives you a headache or not...
  3. There absolutely IS a moose in TWM that &%()&)(&#er got me a few times. He lives near the entrance to the map by the airplae wing, on the way to Crystal Lake. I see the moose most often in Bleak Inlet.
  4. You guys are getting all the good stuff in update bugs. Am jealous. The only cool thing i found was one single node that spawns double birch bark. Big wolf-hairy deal. 😒
  5. I'll take em... I do happen to have an extra bearskin bedroll, however I strongly recommend the ptarmigan-infused bedroll instead. It's warmer and lighter. Plus you get to shoot arrows at those absolutely adorable ptarmigans to keep it in good condition. WAY better than that bear...!!! No expedition parka but I have an extra moose hide coat in a locker somewhere, I forgot where tho. You can have it, it's heavy.
  6. You got my spawn, it never appeared in my game!
  7. On infrequent occasion I get nostalgic and go back to the second version of the game, which is what I started on. It's fun to stroll through the old graphics, meet Fluffy in the dam, marvel at the empty space in the dam and Camp Office which I was once so disoriented to see filled up with junk, I still haven't figured out the old bow mechanics but I'm very deadly with the current system..... It's fun, then after a while feels limited. Fetch quests are tedious and finishing Signal Void was indeed a grind, but it did get me moving out of my familiar routines and as a result expanded my scope and overall enjoyment of the game. I enjoy the challenges as well. In my current sandbox, at 502 days now, Signal Void completed and all regions mostly mapped except Blackrock, I haven't even been there yet on this run. It's not my favorite place either. (Milton is also not my favorite.) The first three maps have a lot of human infrastructure. There really is plenty in the game you can just avoid without it affecting your game too much, until you run out of a particular resource that can't be found in the wild. Even with all the additions, IMHO, it still retains that peaceful solitude.
  8. Small bug- In DP I came out of the mine that loops around and connects the road at the church and near the waterfall cave. I came out the side by the waterfall cave and instead of the region displaying Desolation Point after the load screen, I was told I discovered Little Island. It doesn't happen every time.
  9. It kinda just doesn't surprise me at all that mostly Gen X would like The Long Dark. It really does make a lot of sense!
  10. You get all the maps done in 120 days? Is that on a custom setting?
  11. I also think a way to implement fast travel would be good and is a bit necessary. Skis and/ or snowshoes would be a very welcome addition, and appropriate to the environment. @Admin
  12. I am on Day 186 of the same game now, and my character changes gender back and forth quite often, very randomly, nothing specific triggers it. Once I switched gender for a bear attack. That was fun. I'm at a point now when Will starts suddenly huffing and puffing and complaining that "something is making me tired" (ya think Will???) I know he'll just switch back to Astrid in a few minutes.
  13. I'm living in Ash Canyon at the moment...... not good for indoor spaces!!
  14. The cold made my head feel so thick I missed that. It works. You can strip outdoors by the fire and clothes will unfreeze. What a pain but at least it works. Carrying spare gear adds too much weight...Thanks!
  15. This frostbite/freezing clothing bug is- IMHO- making the game unplayable. It eliminates sleeping outdoors, even with a fire, as an option completely. Then... what's the point?
  16. It just happened to me as well, sleeping outdoors with a fire going.
  17. Quick update on this issue... 1) Thanks to Digitalzombie who loaded up my savegame and immediately gave me dysentery. This is definitely a bug on Hinterland's side. 2) My character turns back into Astrid if I exit to the survival load screen and re-launch. I don't need to fully exit the game. 3) I don't have to sleep to suddenly change into Will. It's happening a lot. It just happened while I was walking around.
  18. ok, give me a few mins. I'm.... still Will at the moment! 😂
  19. @Digitalzombie sure how do I do that? Thanks! If I close down completely and re-launch, I am Astrid again. Then I went to sleep outdoors and woke up as Will!
  20. I have to look for that setting to turn off character narration because I cannot play and hear Will. Nope.
  21. oh thank you, i scanned the list of known issues and didn't see it. ugh what a bummer. Honestly this should be switchable in the options at all times.
  22. I'm on day 25 of a new run. Game has been running normally, no bugs/issues but suddenly I am Will not Astrid. Yes I am absolutely 100% sure I have been hearing Jennifer Hale complain she's never been so cold in her life until.... I think Day 23??? I'm not sure when the change happened. I'm on Timberwolf Mountain. It happened within the last 2 hours... I thought I heard a weird noise (Will panting) but I also had Netflix on. Ever heard of this? Can I get Astrid back? I like the voice better. And by better I mean I really dislike the male voice and this the start of an explore the whole world run........ I'm in Voyageur mode, nothing custom and no mods, not even installed, I don't use them.
