  1. which is the basic purpose of any firearm. 99.99999999% of the rounds fired from any firearm don't hurt anything. They hurt my wallet
  2. One of the most important parts of owning a firearm that you will be firing, is being comfortable with the firearm. If a certain color makes the owner more comfortable, then that is an important factor. While I agree that the basic and root purpose of a firearm is killing, there are also sports which revolve around shooting and many enjoy target shooting as a pastime, to these people it is a piece of sporting equipment, one they may wish to customize with their favorite color. I think you are making a poor connection between the color of a firearm and the affect that color will have on the intentions or perceptions of the person holding/seeing/shooting that firearm.
  3. A pink rifle probably shoots just as well as a black one. I'll be buying my daughter a youth rifle to learn basic firearms fundamentals with and she has been attracted to the pink ones, not sure if I will get her one.
  4. I've got quite a collection, but my daily carry is a Glock 34. My rifle zone deer rifle is a Remington 700 in 30.06. My shotgun zone deer gun is a Remington 870 with a rifled slug barrel. (28" field barrel for upland game) My "survival" gun is a single shot 12 gauge. With 9mm and .22lr inserts. My favorite plinker is a custom built 5.56 AR with a 16" Bravo Company upper. Close second is my 10/22 with Volq. 2.5# trigger and heavy stainless barrel. Super heavy but scary accurate. To name a few... :-) A nice list this is.
  5. I love it, I have only put about 500 rounds through it but I have had zero problems, well to be honest the stock magazine is kinda iffy but I picked up a couple of the polymer 10 round mags for it and am now completely satisfied with it. I personally use the stock rail and an extended eye relief scope from Leupold but there is an aftermarket full length rail that allows you to use traditional scopes as well.
  6. The .223 is the same as the Military's 5.56mm commonly used. Not to be too nit-picky but the .223 isn't exactly the same as the military 5.56 round, there is a slight difference. I currently own a Ruger Gunsite Scout which is chambered in .308 WIN, a Glock 17 9mm, a Ruger Mark III Target, a Ruger 10/22, and a Remington 870 12 gauge. As far as hunting, now a days the only thing that need fear me are paper targets and any random items I decide to take to the range to shoot. Some more popular items among the people that I go to the range with are watermelons, potatoes, cinder blocks, clay pigeons, and anything else that explodes when it is shot.
