The wolf pack and the alpha wolf

We were just chatting about GELtaz's latest video and he jokingly referred to taking out the alpha wolf first (or last) Using raw meat as bait, he was able to easily attract a pack of four wolves, which were dispatched in rapid succession using bow and arrow. Wouldn't it be great if the wolf AI evolved to permit wolves to operate more as a pack with coordinated simultaneous attacks as in real life? Also, shouldn't there be an alpha wolf who kind of leads or directs the pack; take him/her out and the pack might scatter.

I saw that video - it was some impressive work! It just goes to show how easy it is to get a month's worth of food and a new coat from just a bow, one arrow and a piece of bait.

Wolves do currently feel like the easiest source of food. You can trick them with bait, trap them with fire, chase them off a fresh kill and even run at them naked with a knife. GELtaz's video just underlined how far wolves are from being a predatory threat.

I think more intelligent behaviour from the wolves would be great. Shadowing the player until they're weak or vulnerable, pack behaviour, feints etc., would enhance the realism and help make the player fearful of a wolf encounter...which is as it should be.

If devs would implement proper wolf pack mentality and thinking, supplemented with alpha leadership, then chances of player survival would drop to none.

None of the current exploits would work then, be it fire or bareass meleeing. Hell, most of the time player wouldnt even see it coming.
