devamadhu 16 Posted February 8 I'm still working on a 500 day run in my longest game so far, and have been getting bored with the Camp Office in ML. I decided to take a trip to Milton Basin, which I had somehow missed on my earlier visits to that region. Since Milton Basin connects to Forlorn Muskeg, I hopped over to see if Jeremiah's Hatch existed in Survival Mode. I couldn't find it, but I tend to have bad luck with hatches anyway, so I wasn't very optimistic. Anyway, I ended up finding this little scene near the Shortwave Tower. There was something heartwarming about seeing food on an actual plate - a little civility in the frozen wasteland of the Muskeg.
Doc Feral 295 Posted February 8 I've found that too a while ago. Anyway, a scary but beautiful night in good ol' Muskeg and I've learned something: the flashlight stops wolves and that's it. It doesn't scare them off, that only happened in 4don. So it may be good if you can back off to a shelter, but not if you're in the open. Oh, well, hatchet time! 2

You either let them come a bit closer (but not too close) and then punch the high beam for a second (so you can save power) or if they are the courageous type and don't scare so easily you fire the high beam and go towards them for a change. When I do the second one I feel like

Once they have been written of course, so keep unlocking them and review them in the journal after a year or so. Edited February 9 by Mystix

Turns out I was wrong - the journal displays only the name of the cairn but not the story. So if we want to see if there are new stories we have to always go check the cairns. piddy3825 369 Posted Wednesday at 04:05 AM BOP! BOP! BOP! I am starting to get good with the stones... three for three first thing in the morning at dawn's light right in the back of Trapper's Cabin. I've started a little stone collection by the door for each successful "kill." I guess I could call today a hat trick! Nothing says good morning like a little freshly roasted rabbit in your tummy.

stratvox 352 Posted Thursday at 03:34 AM Just now, piddy3825 said: what you got burning in there? flare or a fire? nice shade of red... It's a roaring fire in the fire barrel in the church. It benefits from the outdoor cold bonus, which is one of the things that makes the church a good place to live. Outdoor fires cut way back on the amount of wood you need... and I might add that I've been here for nearly a month now and I'm having no problem keeping the wood well stocked. There's plenty of it near the church. I'll allow that the distance to the work table in Hibernia is a bit rough, but overall this is really the spot in DP. In a lot of ways, it's a cave, in that you're invisible to predators while you're inside, you can cure hides etc on the floor, but you're outside so no cabin fever and your fires last a lot longer. I actually took a lot of shots while my breath was (mostly) invisible to get this one, to catch the peak brightness of the flickering fire. Here's inside the church right now.
