Frostbite question

Started new game in stalker. Woke up in storm without gloves. Got frostbite on hands. It says “permanent disability” - can I do anything to help and how will this affect my play?

No, sorry to inform you, if you get it, you keep it.  You can help yourself during the frostbite risk period, but if you get it it means you loose 10% of your life bar for good. From now and on until you slip into the long dark, your full energy will be 90%..unless you get yet another one

You can get frostbite affliction repeatedly on the same extremity. You can be totally warm and still get frostbite. If you have the risk, look at the ambient air temp not the Feels Like Temp to see what is happening to the frostbite risk.

I started a Custom game (Interloper +/-) on Hushed River Valley and got Frostbite in 3 places with the first 4 or 5 days. I am continuing!
