Climbing Control On Bramble

With the rope we have the option to go up or down.  Why is this not reflected in the way these Bramble Bush climbs work?

The current method is walk up to Bramble Bush and click when indicates 'climb', then the controls are lost.  My character is acting independently which frankly breaks immersion.  There is no way to cancel or change direction, it is a one way trip.  The most frustrating for me was when harvesting Rose Hips which is adjacent to the Bramble and miss click and start climbing uncontrollably.

The other more interesting option is make a goat path adjacent to these Bramble Bush climbs.  Then there would be no need to change the Bramble climb.   There are already some Bramble Bush bypass using goat trails already.  When I am using these goat trails, in my opinion as a LDRMG, the experience is much more entertaining and immersive.  The control is never lost and direction is reversible.
