epower
Man, that SW7 game is a very tough test. Thirst and Fatigue settings of Very High are an entirely different game. Yikes. I'm finding the Thirst setting most challenging at game start as fire resources are limited. Hibernia safe yielded second Jeans and a 58% Mackinaw jacket so that's a plus.
BareSkin
BareSkin30- D1 [Sleepwalker level 7] – Same settings, but I take Cold Fusion instead of Fire Master. Spawn near the 3WC, not too cold just before noon. See two rabbits, look for a stone and stun one, can’t afford chasing the other. Grab the matches at 3WC and run into the Cave of Engines, losing only 1% to cold. Make a tinder, light up the torch: it doesn’t give any warmth bonus anymore, I stay at FL-0 while cruising the cave even with Cold Fusion and decide to make a fire near a corpse. I love making fire on day 1 for both calories and water. That’s the proof of a good lucky start. I take left on cave exit, arriving at the lake I pay the shaking off of a wolf that spotted me from kilometers with a sprain ankle, anti-frostbite driving gloves in the fishut, I arrive on one leg at the Hut for a warm welcoming from Catherine. And a ski Jacket, 4 canned food (a record?), carcassing book. In the evening I go for cattails and make a nice killsteal, but it’s too windy to stay here and I will desperately need my firewood tomorrow morning. If I could make it through morning temperatures while harvesting the deer, that’d be perfect and would cover the double match expenditure. 2°C+5°C bed bonus, it’s around 7PM: I go for 8h sleep because I'm tired and stupid. The deer will wait for me Edited January 17, 2019 by BareSkin
BareSkin
BareSkin30- D2 [Sleepwalker level 7] Around 4AM I wake up rested, everything goes as planned, I sneak between 2 wolves (the lake and the river one), and start my fire. I end up babysitting it in a morning snowstorm. I have to leave the place and the last steak raw on the stones when the fire can’t be maintained anymore. I pick up everything smelly to draw the nearby wolves in fear, then run all I can and drop all the smellies as soon as wolf resets. I have to run again to the Hut in order not to be eaten. Sleep 4h, in the evening I run the empty lake for opposite shore cattails and grabbing everything into the Hut, it’s Bear time. BareSkin30- D3 [Sleepwalker level 7] The reduction of campfire footprint allows for a nice outside fire in the Hut, which is totally necessary in TWM mornings. 2 coals make me able to warmup enough to hunt 3 rabbits. Sleep 5 more hours, in the evening the absence of winds lets me exchange 20+ cattails on the lake marsh for 2% hyporisk. I looted everything there. Next is the cattails bay. I hate half the deer already. Sound more realistic than the Interloper/SW4/SW8+/Deadman full-deer-every-24h.
BareSkin
BareSkin30- D4 [Sleepwalker level 7] I fail the morning fire 4 times. I get Well Fed at the exact moment dehydration kicks in. I made the mistake to prioritize cooking the deer on the lake fire from SW4 habits: Calorie burst is high, dehydration is very high, and it definitely makes you keep a water spot every time a fire is on. It definitely seems more natural to have to drink 2-3L a day, and not having to eat a full deer every 36h. Exchange 6% hypo for 30 sticks in the evening. BareSkin30- D5 [Sleepwalker level 7] The 30 sticks are burnt in the morning, for warmth and water. Not a productive day, due to blizzard, but the guts are curing. BareSkin30- D6 [Sleepwalker level 7] The deer is back! I spend 2 matches to steal it (one for an immediately blown torch), I’ll come back tomorrow morning for harvesting. The mission tonight is cattails bay, cause it doesn’t require fuel and I want it looted before I leave. Total 53 cattails in inventory. I start eating them because I want to keep both porkandbeans: 1 for travel warmup, one for having a second can, someday, maybe...
Dan_
Spawning in TWM has a homecoming feel to it, but spawning in HRV and getting insta mauled by a hungry bear kind doesn't. Great start bud.

BareSkin
BareSkin30- D4 [Sleepwalker level 7] I am so comfy I'm becoming foolish: I forgot to split my 9h sleep: the price is heavy, nearly 30% health (25% hypo+starvation+dehydration). Noob mistake, I’m punished hard, that’s why I like this game. I lose the well fed buff but couldn’t care less, useless to me. I first take care of the freezing, 3 attempts to start a fire, then drink and eat a cattail. Half an hour later, blizzard kicks in and prevent me to transfer the fire to the carcass. I still have 12 matches from the starting 24, for surviving 7 nights in TWM stealing 2 carcasses it’s not that bad. The +34°C fire pushes me to FL+3. TWM dawn blizzards are hitting hard. The fire is not windproof and I have to babysit it (losing 1h of fuel+cold bonus). I can’t transfer it inside, torches are instant-blown. At noon I have to stop babysitting it, I need to keep a few sticks for the carcass. The blizzard stops mid-afternoon and I process the carcass. It delayed my plans, as I was supposed to already have harvested the meat and begin crafting rabbit hat before leaving in warm hours. I can’t finish the harvest, the winds come back full force, the nearby wolf does not agree to my plans, and makes me burn 2 torches in the fire just to make it flee while I run back to the Hut. I want to craft the hat before dark to reduce fuel cost of morning fire since I used everything to get away with the meat. Sticks can be harvested later in the night, when craft isn't an option. I craft the hat until exhaustion, and the strong winds become a full-blown blizzard. Again! I’m out of fuel, exhausted, so sure of myself I would get some sticks after crafting. But I’m down to 1 torch, and no fuel. I put my hat on and jump into my bed hoping the blizzard won’t last, it’s can’t possibly last since I’ve just had one for nearly 10h long this morning. I’m desperate at this point, and there’s nothing more I can do, going outside is being dead, just sooner. After sleeping I wake up in hypo of course, but the blizzard is gone, I mitigated it since I’m not dead, but I’m down to roughly 50% health. I rush outside to grad 3 sticks to get a 21-minute fire. 2 blizzards in a row is just what it takes to go from perfect start to panicking.
BareSkin
BareSkin30- D8 [Sleepwalker level 7] Once I dropped the coal, I quickly warm up in the bed and get a few sticks more, finish cooking some meat, let the fire die around 10AM. 4h sleep, the weather is really nice and the last gut has cured: I eat everything I can and leave in a FL-10 temperature, sprinting. 47 sticks later I’m in the prep cache without losing health. Work boots and sewing kit are welcome, but I’d like to transfer to the barn in this very nice weather. Sleep 1h. Only loot at Skeeter’s: peaches. Blizzard as soon as I leave the place at dusk, I downclimb to Dodger in a hurry, finding the Cabin by memory, it’s a miracle I didn’t suffer any fall or sprain when I enter Dodger’s with 4% hyporisk. I notice Skeeters basement has changed a bit since update, I hope the other changes on the map will not be crucial. BareSkin30- D9 [Sleepwalker level 7] Exiting Dodger’s, I still think the Old Bear will hunt me down. Too much trauma from this challenge. But there’s no bear, no rabbits so I spend time repairing clothes with curtains while wainting a blizzard to end. The sports socks are ruined since 2 days, total bonus+12 when I’m finished. While transferring to the barn, I can’t resist a very nice kill steal I didn’t even provoke. In front of the barn door, a wolf jumps a deer, this is pure jailbait. While I saw-cook the carcass, the 2 nearby wolves regularly come and go. Upon finishing the meat, I can’t hear them any more. I instead here a very big roar. I don’t try to look from where it comes, I immediately run t the barn. It was a romantic setup, fireplace under beautiful starry skies, but the bear loved me a bit too violently I get mauled in front of the door. As loper asks, I have no bandage and no OMB. I run into the barn in hope for a stim since I think to recall there is one nearby. I would certainly have had time to craft a bandage from something if I found a stim. But I didn't. There's one more corpse in the barn.
BareSkin
BareSkin31- D1 [Sleepwalker level 7] I didn't wrote a log for this one, so I'll post only screenshots . Comic strip time. Can't stay here, no matches, no water Arriving at the Dam. Sleepwalker gives 1% health back every 4h spent awake with 4 needs OK. That's roughly 20%/week in ideal conditions... Got ignition, got water toilet, plus some food. The first crucial hours are done.

Thanks for giving some feedback, and glad you read it BareSkin31- D2x [Sleepwalker level 7] Time for revenge after weeks of harassment This is good news Hide and seek, would it be a good hunting spot? Despite the maglens, I decided 12 matches would be too few to survive long term, so it's time to go for MT now that I finished the sewing kit crafts (rabbit, deer). The rope to Milton is not kidding. I barely make it, sadly I didn't have coffee Tomorrow is loot day!

BareSkin
BareSkin31- D5x [Sleepwalker level 7] After few days spent healing and crafting, let's get ready for Cabin Fever At the Pond, I start a risky fire to spend some time at the Blind. I pray the weather gods, but the fog is a good omen Those damn blood traces are bugged: they stopped 100m away, I'll have to wait for the crows and sleep at nearby Cabin Next morning, I find the carcass, but this stupid 'no fire on slope" rule prevents me from quartering it, I grab few steaks at a time, it's horrible gameplay design Killing a bear without loosing health on post-50 loper is quite an acheivement

My brain tells me they're usually found in strange places we don't often go, like trailers at ML logging camp or near Hibernia On 3/23/2019 at 10:55 AM, Dan_ said: Cooking 5, full health bar and complete set of crafted clothing, I think it's fair to say you've mastered SW7 my good sir. BareSkin31- D6x [Sleepwalker level 7] Very Hungry Less hungry, and less "Well fed". Kinda joke, I guess. When a came back couple weeks later after playing the Cinderella Challenge. At that point I felt the SW7 game was done, just of matter of fighting Fever 1 pic to sum up my game until day 100? This one. Can you hear the wolf barking behind me? He annoyed me, I need the branches at Max. The only good reason for running on a sleepwalk running has a grey fear and long teeth. The best state of a wolf: dead. Day 72.
