What a great game!

Hi folks, I am Kraeto77 from Scotland.

Found this game by accident while looking through Xbox store.

I got to say Hinterland have made a freaking great game, well done.

i am shocked I didn't know about the long dark but happy I found it just before the story release.

I tried the trial mode and bought it straight away.

Anyway, all the best folks and enjoy the Long Dark.

I wasn't aware there was a trial mode - knowing that will certainly help encourage a few friends to give it a go. What are the limits of the demo version?

Yeah I would have bought from steam but I have I rubbish PC.

Definetly agree though, buy from steam if you can.

Yes, there is a demo option for The Long Dark on Xbox One -- players are able to download the game and play for up to 2 hours for free.

I recommend watching videos of others playing the game to learn tricks and tips. There are a lot of mechanics to the game, like cooking certain foods, buffs from coffee and tee, and plants you can turn into medicines, illnesses you can get, etc. I wouldn't say there is a steep learning curve...but there are a lot of little facts to learn...

And even after a year of playing, there will probably still be things to learn that you never knew about.. it's that kind of game.
